Kilkee is situated in the southern corner of West Clare on the Wild Atlantic Way. The coast line around Kilkee is extremely dramatic and there are some fabulous walks along the cliff tops by the Diamond Rocks. Here, the Pollock holes, three naturally enclosed rock pools offer a novel alternative to the sandy beach and are ideal for bathing.
The lively town, busiest in summer, has some excellent restaurants and diners, pubs and souvenir shops. There is a wide variety of amusements catering for the whole family ranging from the local Waterworld (indoor aquapark) to Pitch & Putt, with surfing and sea kayaking available from the long sandy beach, central to this wonderful resort. There is excellent fishing in the area both from shore and deep sea and boat trips are available from the harbour. Golfers can play at Kilkee Golf Club, the famous Doonbeg Golf Club and Lahinch Golf Club all of which are within 30 minutes of Kilkee.
