About Kinvara

Kinvara is a picturesque fishing village on the west coast of Ireland in County Galway. Known as the gateway to the Burren National Park, Kinvara is an area of outstanding natural beauty. 

Our holiday accommodation located in the centre of this scenic village is a perfect base for a romantic holiday on the west coast of Ireland. The village lies at the head of Kinvara Bay and is also known as ‘The Head of the Sea’ , it is renowned for its fresh seafood especially oysters. Enjoy the sea views and small fleet of fishing boats dotted along the quayside. There are a variety of grocery shops, cafes, restaurants, and traditional pubs making it the perfect base for a relaxing break away. 

Close by is Dunguaire Castle where you can enjoy a variety of food and entertainment at the medieval banquets which are held here throughout the summer months. Traught Beach is a Blue Flag beach located 3km away and is perfect for a swim in the fresh Atlantic Ocean. 

Take a day trip to the dramatic Cliffs of Moher or visit the famous Aran Islands. Located off the coast of the Burren, Doolin Ferries and Cliffs of Moher Cruises both operate a passenger ferry service to islands from Doolin Pier between April and October. 

Other places of interest include the Hazel Mountain Chocolates or Burren Perfumery, a family company making perfumes and cosmetics inspired by the Burren landscape. Visit the award winning Doolin Cave or Aillwee Caves for a fun and educational days out for all the family.
