Westport, Co. Mayo is situated on an inlet of Clew Bay, in Co. Mayo on the West Coast of Ireland. As a holiday destination, Westport has everything, all year round. It was recently voted Ireland’s best-loved tourist town. Its location on the Wild Atlantic Way, at Clew Bay with Croagh Patrick just 16km away on the road to Louisburgh and Blue Flag beaches, makes it a desirable destination for walkers, hikers, and surfers. Cape Clear can be accessed for a day trip bringing you back in time. The Great Western Greenway starts here and continues to Achill Island, the 42km trail a joy for walkers and cyclists alike.
Westport House and Gardens are open to the public and are a great day out for the family. There is a great Leisure centre in the town, with a 25 meter swimming pool and kiddie’s pools for that inclement day.
