Tramore is situated on the ‘Sunny South East’ coast of Ireland and is a real traditional seaside resort, a great destination for a family holiday. Visitors will be spoiled for choice by the wide variety of both indoor and outdoor activities on offer.
Tramore has a 5Km long sandy beach which is perfect for swimming and paddling with Kilafarrasy Beach only 3 Km away. This part of the coast offers opportunity for some great surfing and there are a number of surfing schools including Tramore Bay Surf School, Freedom Surf School and Oceanic Manoeuvers. Kayaking is also available and Seapaddling.com offer a unique way to explore the local coves and caves along this spectacular piece of coastline.
Horse riding is available at Lake Tour Stables which offers both tuition and trekking for all levels from novice to advanced. Another enjoyable to enjoy the area is by bike and bicycle hire and tours are on offer at Easy Wheelin Cycle Tours. For those interested in horse racing, Tramore also has its own race course which hosts a major four day festival every August while the regular meets are a great day out for all the family.
For golfers, Tramore has a 18 hole golf course as well as a pitch & putt and an all weather driving range not to mention the nearby Faithlegg Golf Club and Dunmore East Golf Club.
Should the weather turn, there is plenty to keep you occupied indoors. Tramore has a cinema, bowling alley, theatre and multimedia visitors centre on the history of Waterford at The Granary. The town also has a number of amusement arcades, Run Amuck – an indoor children’s play area & party centre, and Splashworld – an indoor aqua adventure playground and swimming pool.
