Newgrange, Co. Meath

No visit to these holiday cottages and holiday homes in Meath is complete without a visit to the World Heritage Site of Newgrange, home to a Neolithic passage tomb constructed over 5000 years ago, making it older than Stonehenge! The tomb is best known for the illumination of its passage and chamber by the winter solstice sun. There is an impressive visitors centre for both this main tomb and neighbouring Knowth and Dowth with guided tours around all three.
