These self catering holiday homes in Dromod overlook the marina and are a very short stroll from the village’s convenience store and pubs which serve great food. There is a restaurant beside the cottages called Harkins Bistro, open all summer and at weekends in Winter. This quaint little village is a regular winner in the national Tidy Towns Competition.
The lively town of Carrick-on-Shannon is only a 15 minute drive away and boasts a wide variety of craft shops, Aura Leisure Centre with indoor pool, some excellent restaurants, traditional pubs and great nightlife. It is also the departure point for a number of organised cruises along the River Shannon.
There are a number of interesting visitor’s attractions in the area such the Cavan & Leitrim Railway Museum,Swan Island Open Farm & Trekking Centre and Cochise Stud & Saddlers. There is also an outdoor activity centre on the lake
Shannon River Adventure which offers a wide range of outdoor activities for children and adults including wind surfing, kayaking, archery, etc. Summer camps for children and teenagers are also available.
County Leitrim is a particularly unspoilt part of Ireland and largely undeveloped. Permeated by lakes and tributaries of the Shannon it is known for having rich stocks of pike, roach and bream and plenty of wild fowl. There are some excellent marked walk ways and cycling trails in the area both along the waterways and through the county’s forests.
This self catering accommodation in Leitrim is the ideal place to get away from it all having the advantage of feeling quite secluded while being within easy reach of both Dromod and Carrick-on-Shannon.
