Derrynane Holiday Homes are situated on the Wild Atlantic Way adjacent to the magnificent Ring of Kerry, a scenic drive around the Iveragh Peninsula. Our eight holiday homes in Derrynane are beside one of the world’s most beautiful beaches, making them the perfect choice for a self-catering holiday in Kerry.
These three bed holiday homes are beautifully furnished and fitted to a very high standard. On the ground floor you will find an open plan living room with comfortable sofas and an electric stove, dining room and stylish kitchen with a walnut finish. There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, a twin bedroom (double on request) and a double bedroom with king size bed which both share a bathroom with shower.
On the first floor there is a third bedroom with a king size bed and an en-suite bathroom with over bath shower.
One of the eight holiday homes is wheelchair accessible with a ground floor single bedroom rather than a twin bedroom and all other accommodation is the same.
Derrynane Holiday Homes is situated in a natural landscaped area adjacent to the Derrynane Hotel. The hotel is due to reopen soon, date to be confirmed.
The surrounding scenery of the Iveragh Peninsula is extremely beautiful, offering breathtaking views for miles around every turn along the road. On a clear day white sandy beaches fringed by turquoise seas can lend a tropical air yet part of the peninsila still remains virtually unspoilt. Derrynane beach was ranked the second best beach in Ireland by Trip Advisor in 2015.
The small village of Caherdaniel is a mere 1.6 km away from Derrynane Holiday Homes with two pubs serving hot food and an excellent selection of seafood. The village of Caherdaniel is named after Daniel O'Connell a prominent politician and statesman. Derrynane House is 2km west of the village and open to the public in summer. The house is now an Irish National Monument and part of 320 acre National Park.
Walkers will be delighted to find The Kerry Way, a 214km circular walking trail right on their doorstep. There are a selection of sea activities available at Derrynane Sea Sports, with courses, lessons and equipment hire available. Waterskiing, SUPB (stand up paddle boarding), sailing, wakeboarding are just some of the water sports available at Derrynane.
Beach trekking is also available from Eagle Rock Equestrian Centre who offer horse riding and beach treks along the Wild Atlantic Way in the stunning surroundings of Derrynane Bay.
Some of the most beautiful and challenging golf courses are available close by such Ray Floyd designed 18 hole championship links course at Waterville, Skellig Bay Golf Course and a little further afield you can choice from either Kenmare Golf Course and Ring of Kerry Golf Club.
Derrynane Holiday Homes and the surrounding area has everything you could want from a self-catering holiday in Ireland. Close proximity to some of the best beaches in Kerry (nearest beach 5 minute walk), beautiful irish villages such as Waterville, Sneem and Parknasilla all located along the Ring of Kerry.
Artists have been inspired for years by the changing light on the ocean, the beaches and surrounding mountains, there are lovely galleries in some of the local villages. It is a Gaeltacht area where Irish language and culture is in evidence everywhere.
Trips to the UNESCO heritage Skellig Islands go from Ballinskelligs Pier, or head out to the Blasket Islands from Dunquin Pier on the Dingle Peninsula.
