In a quiet, private setting on the shores of the River Bandon, adjacent to Kilgobbin, Castle Quay holiday homes are just 13 km from the maritime town of Kinsale in County Cork.

The beautifully designed, detached holiday homes are really in one of the most peaceful areas of East Cork totally secluded in shared grounds, with private entrance gates to the development.  On the ground floor there is a good sized galley style kitchen, dining room and beautiful living area and there is a double en suite bedroom. French doors from the living room open onto a decked area, perfect for al fresco dining or just taking in the views.   On the first floor a mezzanine seating area looks over the living room and has views out over the river,  there is a double bedroom (en suite), one twin and a family bathroom with Jacuzzi bath.

Kilgobbin Castle is adjacent to the holiday homes and 5km away is the village of Ballinspittle, made famous for its ‘moving statues’.  Ballinadee (3km) is a tiny country village with a great pub where impromptu music sessions are a regular event.

These holiday homes close to Kinsale are a great touring base for the region, with Cork city and easy access to Cork airport. (30km)

Kinsale to Cork City – 30Km
Kinsale to Shannon Airport – 155Km
Kinsale to Dublin – 285Km

We stayed at no:4 and have to say house and scenery was just beautiful. Mairead who is property manager could not do enough for us.My only issue was we had our 2 year old little girl with us and it just meant we had to drive everywhere. We couldnt walk as those country roads are too dangerous. I just wished their was a shop onsite or closer but all in all we did really enjoy the stay.

Loved the position of this house, extremely quiet, the town only a short walk away with numerous shops, pubs and good eating places.Lots of lovely drives in the Irish countryside.Good introduction given to us by the host who was very informative and friendly. I will recommend to my friends.

An absolutely stunning location which proved a good base for touring Cork and up into the southern reaches of Kerry. The accommodation was excellent (very slight gripe is that though the property was clean, I thought it could have been cleaner). A very welcoming host (Mairead) made me feel at home.

Spent a lovely week at Castle Quay. The house was lovely and big, and the views across the river was beautiful. Mairead,
the lady we saw was very helpful, and when she found out I was looking for my family roots in Kinsale, she very kindly found information for us, and pointed us in the right direction, sending us to the correct people to speak to. we will be returning one day to continue our search, and Castle Quay will be at the top of our list to stay.

Arrived with high hopes, but slightly apprehensive as the accommodation was very well priced in comparison to anything similar we were looking for.
We arrived down as two families to share the one holiday home (4 parents and 4 young kids).
My slight fears of quality etc disintegrated within minutes of arriving.
The lady who greeted us made check-in very hassle free and had a genuine pleasant friendly manner.
The accommodation on viewing was exactly what we’d hoped for- clean, spacious, and stocked well with all the essentials. The site in general was quite good and although situated on the bank of the Bandon, it had a lovely almost shoreline resemblance. On two of the mornings I brought the kids for a walk along the boundary fence at the river bank we were treated to two approaching seals swimming in the river. Each morning they swam quite close to our viewing area, and were in no hurry to leave.
Kinsale in my opinion speaks for itself as regards best holiday destinations in Ireland, and we hope to return many times in the future.
Castle Quay holiday homes are about 10mins drive from the town, but to be honest this was little or no hindrance to our stay. (Fota 30mins +/-, and Leahy’s farm 40mins+/-) are both musts for the kids and we returned home glad we chose Castle Quay as our holiday destination.

I took five of my English friends back to Ireland for an amazing long weekend last November. We stayed in Castle Quay homes just outside Kinsale, Co. Cork and it didn't disappoint! We had glorious winter sunshine, walks on the spectacular beaches, hot port in cosy pubs complete with log fires, fresh crab claws in fishyfish seafood cafe and even a whale watching trip! All in all it was a superb holiday and the houses in Castle Quay are just lovely and set in a real panoramic location overlooking the river and between 6 are a complete bargain! Very convenient to fly into Cork airport and hire a car - only 30 mins away. We also visited the nearby famous Blarney castle. Check out some pics I’ve uploaded on Facebook.
